On January 31st, Loa Elementary's Fifth Grade Class took a trip to Salt Lake City to see state government in action, in addition to visiting the Natural History Museum of Utah.
Not only did the class get to meet their state representatives, Senator Okerlund and Representative Lyman, they got to see the House and Senate approving bills--then Loa Elementary was recognized on the House and Senate Floor!
Representative Lyman was impressed by Mrs. Torgerson's class, saying, "It was so fun meeting your students. They are sharp kids!! It was the highlight of my short tenure her on the legislature so far to meet them. I hope the day was a success!
Thank you for the opportunity, and let the students know they were awesome."
Then it was on to the Natural History Museum of Utah where the students learned about subjects from dinosaurs to Mayan skeletons. There were several hands-on displays, and the class had a great time learning about Utah's past, present, and future!
