Our Students Are "Sew" Awesome

Wayne Middle School offers various College & Career Awareness (CCA) classes.  Several 7th graders were enrolled in Mrs. Williams' Family and Consumer Science unit.  As part of the curriculum, they were given the choice to create either a rice bag or a decorative pillow.

Students decided on their idea, collected their material and items, measured, cut, filled, and sewed their own project.  Mrs. Williams provided guidance and encouragement along the way.

All enjoyed the process of exploring new skills, and perhaps discovered or developed a blossoming talent.  They learned through individual experience that "mistakes" may be made, but that growth and accomplishment are results of effort.  They were engaged in the learning process, and ultimately, they all happily and succesfully completed their projects.

Mrs. Williams commented, "I am so proud of them.  I loved how excited they were about their project, and how proud they were with themselves."

Way to go students!
