School Dismissal

Parents and Students in Wayne School District,

The Coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak has affected the state and nation. Our primary concern, during this period, is for the safety of our students and staff. Due to these concerns about the virus, the Utah State Department of Health and the Utah Sate Board of Education are dismissing school for two weeks (March 16 to March 27). The state will reevaluate the dismissal at the end of two weeks. By dismissing school and having no students in the building we will diminish the ability of the virus to spread throughout the community.

During the school dismissal period schools will not be in session, busses will not run and the school buildings will be closed for public use. There will be no sports or activities during these periods, including practices. Teachers will provide online education using the student’s school-provided iPads starting Thursday March 19th.

This is a difficult period for all of the county, state and nation, so if you have any questions or concerns please contact your school principals.

Respectfully

Dr. John M. Fahey
