Wayne School District is seeking applicants for the following positions:   
 
 

Secondary Teacher – Social Studies & English

Wayne High School – This person will be responsible for educating high school age children by creating and implementing lesson plans for Social Studies and English classes. You will assess student progress, manage classroom behavior, communicate with parents, and collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive learning environment. Applicants must also possess a knowledge of the subject matter and appropriate instructional methodologies, good communication skills, patience, creativity, and be proficient working as a member of a team. 

Candidates need to have a Bachelor’s Degree and Utah Teaching License; or be working toward these credentials. Candidates seeking an intern position will be considered. 

This position is Full-Time and includes Leave, Insurance, and Retirement Benefits. Pay is according to Experience and the Wayne School District Salary Schedule.

Elementary Teacher

Hanksville Elementary – Grades to be determined

This person will be responsible for educating and nurturing young children by creating and implementing lesson plans across various grades and various subjects; for reading, math, language arts, science, and social studies. You will assess student progress, manage classroom behavior, communicate with parents, and collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive learning environment. Applicants must also possess a knowledge of the subject matter and appropriate instructional methodologies, good communication skills, patience, creativity, and be proficient working as a member of a team. 

Candidates need to have a Bachelor’s Degree and Utah Teaching License; or be working toward these credentials. Candidates seeking an intern position will be considered. Candidates should have or be willing to complete training in Science of Reading strategies or LETRS.

Head Softball CoachStart before the 2026-27 Season

This position will require adequate knowledge and skills to properly prepare students to participate in sports activities. Applicants must possess the ability to work and interact well with student athletes, demonstrate professional and ethical character, and possess excellent communication skills. Applicants must commit to the appropriate amount of time and effort, to facilitate effective practice and scheduled events. 

The chosen applicant must be fingerprinted and satisfactorily pass an employment background check, and will need to complete the necessary employee paperwork and policy review.

Substitute Cooks

Wayne School District is accepting applications for Substitute Cooks to help at both Wayne High School & Loa Elementary. The successful applicants will assist the Head Cook with daily meal preparation, serving, and cleaning up. This position could be up to 28 hours per week, with no benefits. Pay will be according to Wayne School District’s salary schedule.

The applicant needs to have a positive attitude, and interact in a positive and friendly manner with students & staff on a daily basis. They will need to be able to work as a team.  Applicants must also have or be willing to obtain a current food handlers permit, and keep up on all training.
