Wayne School District is excited to welcome Randy Shelley as our new superintendent. He is already hard at work leading our school district. 

Randy Shelley grew up on a small farm near Fairview, Utah. He graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1988 then attended Snow College, earning an Associate of Science in 1990.  After Snow College, Randy attended Southern Utah University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in music in 1993. In the Fall of 1993 Randy was hired by Wayne County School District to teach music at both Wayne High School and Wayne Middle School. He held that position for two years until he had the opportunity to move home when he was offered a teaching position at North Sanpete Middle School. At North Sanpete, Randy taught band, choir, math and computer science at the middle and high school levels until 2005. While teaching band, Randy continued his education, pursuing and earning a Master of Education degree, with an emphasis in educational leadership, from Brigham Young University in 2002. In 2005, Randy was appointed principal of North Sanpete Middle School and held that position for five years. He moved into district administration in 2010, when he was appointed to the position of assistant superintendent, and has been in that role until now. In his current role, Randy has had the opportunity to work for two different superintendents, which has given him a variety of perspectives on vision and leadership. 

Randy has been married to his high school sweetheart for thirty years. Together they have raised three independent children who value education. The oldest two have graduated with Bachelor Degrees, one with a Master Degree in Human Resources. Their youngest just finished her Associate Degree and will be starting her Bachelor program at BYU in the Fall.

Randy is excited to be returning to where it all started for him and looks forward to working with the students, parents, teachers, administrators, staff and school board of Wayne County School District.
