Wayne School District Employee Recognition Award - November 2025

Wayne School District Honors Outstanding Employees
Wayne School District is proud to celebrate—and continue celebrating—the remarkable individuals who make our schools such exceptional places to learn and work. Through the Wayne School District Employee Recognition Award, staff members who consistently go above and beyond are honored not only for their excellence, but for the heart, dedication, and effort they pour into their everyday roles.
What makes this award especially meaningful is that recipients are nominated and selected by their own coworkers—the people who see their teamwork, commitment, and impact firsthand. Throughout the year, the Superintendent personally visits each site to present honorees with a certificate of recognition and a small token of appreciation, expressing the district’s sincere gratitude.
This ongoing recognition program serves as an important reminder of what Wayne School District has always known: we truly have the best people in the business. From classrooms to cafeterias, offices to buses, and every role in between, each staff member plays a vital part in supporting students’ success and building a positive, caring school community.
The recognition awards this time go to:
- Sade Syme: High School Health and Music teacher
- Seth Taft: WSD Business Administrator
- Cherie Blackburn: LES 4th grade teacher
- Jaden Ellett: WHS Math teacher
- Heidi Woolsey: WSD Athletic Director, WHS teacher
- Ashlee Jackson: LES 3rd grade teacher
And we can't forget our Superintendent, Randy Shelley. We want to recognize him for all of his outstanding work on behalf of the district and our students.
