Board Meeting Minutes June 2, 2021

MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION FOR WAYNE SCHOOL DISTRICT HELD AT WAYNE DISTRICT OFFICE ON WEDNESDAY June 2, 2021 at 6:00 PM.

ADMINISTRATION

Shawn Davis called the meeting to order.  

INFORMATION ITEMS

Discussion about facilities and bonding. The board discusses a needs assessment conducted in 2015, which included various options for renovations and rebuilds of Loa Elementary, Wayne Middle School, and Wayne High School. There is some discussion on potential funding options and tax rates. 

The general consensus is that most members prefer the option of rebuilding a portion of a combined high/middle school on the existing high school site and moving Loa elementary to the existing middle school site and combine with the district office.

The Superintendent is going to meet with our representatives to discuss facilities needs and the request of getting a state match with one-time funds.

Shawn adjourns the meeting at 7:49 pm.
