District Belief Statements

Belief statements—

• The educational community is made up of many different entities and each entity must be committed to effective learning and meeting the changing needs of education.

• The primary purpose of education is to teach life-long learning skills, to promote character development, and to prepare our students for the future as contributing members of society.

• Each school should address the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs of every student by providing experiences that enable effective learning and enhance self-esteem.

• Students will be made aware that the educational community is committed to supporting them in their overall development and success.

Goals and action plans—

1.  Focus on student success!

• Identify and create an environment that will ensure student success by providing teacher support, professional development, and technology.

2.  Improve and upgrade physical facilities in the district.

• Evaluate the facilities to prioritize and schedule ongoing maintenance needs as well as school improvements.

3.  Continue to encourage the partnership of school/student/parent involvement for student success.

• Encourage increased and effective communication between parents, students and teachers.  Appreciate and value the perspective of all parties involved.
