Hiring Committees

Directors/managers appointment—

All district directors or managers shall be appointed by the Board only upon the recommendation of the Superintendent.  In determining which individual to recommend for a district director or manager position, the Superintendent will consider the advice of a recommendation committee which will consist of three employees approved by the Superintendent and up to two board members.  Should a person nominated by the Superintendent be rejected by the Board, it shall be the Superintendent’s duty to make another nomination.

All other positions—

Applicants for positions not specifically detailed in this or other district policies shall be approved by the Board only upon the recommendation of the Superintendent.  The hiring committee shall consist of not less than three employees approved by the Superintendent.

Criteria—

Selection shall be based on written criteria which relate to the position requirements.  The selection process shall be uniform, with all applicants undergoing the same process.
