BACK TO SCHOOL PLAN 2020-2021

School Begins August 19, 2020

LEARNING OPTIONS FOR FAMILIES:

  • IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION AT SCHOOL with health restrictions and guidance from state officials and local health departments OR
  • REMOTE LEARNING—Teachers will upload assignments and lessons to Canvas.Daily instruction can be viewed live through Zoom or students can view later with limited teacher support OR
  • ONLINE—Students may access instruction through Edgenuity/Pathblazer curriculum facilitated by Wayne School District staff.

A SAFE ENVIRONMENT AT SCHOOL

  • In-Person instruction will follow a traditional Monday-Friday schedule with modifications for safety and social distancing.Start times will be the same as previous years. Release times will be 30 minutes earlier than previous years.
  • Per state mandate, face coverings are required for students, staff and anyone visiting the school and on busses.One reusable face covering will be provided for students with a limited supply of disposable coverings available.
  • Desks will be spaced to the extent possible and assigned seating will be used for contact tracing.Students will follow a regular hand washing schedule.
  • Teachers and staff will wear face coverings at school.School plans include appropriate social distancing where possible.
  • Building Cleaning and disinfecting schedules will be enhanced.Each school will have an isolate health room or space.
  • Accommodations will be made for students with IEPs, 504 plans and other needs.

School Specific plans will be available and posted shortly on district and school websites.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Students who are sick MUST stay home.

Students will be sent home if they come to school while sick.  Parents must be sure their contact information is current with the school in the event their student needs to be picked up for any reason.

PLANNING AHEAD

  • We are prepared to shift to a modified daily/weekly schedule or full dismissal if recommended by the health department.
  • In the event of a local outbreak, classrooms or entire schools may be dismissed for a period of time.
