October 21st, we carved and painted pumpkins in our study skills class to compete against other study skills classes to see who had the best looking pumpkin, and which class was gonna take the prize.

On Saturday October 24th Wayne’s Volleyball girls traveled to Tabiona for the Round 1 games for state. This game, depending on if you won or lost, decided if you went to state. It was a really close game between Wayne and Tabiona. It went to five sets, but Wayne came out with the win, they were going to state. October 30th and 31st the girls traveled to Roosevelt for the state finals. The first game they played Rich who was ranked first in the state and Wayne lost to them. The second game they played Milford. This game was an intense game. It went to five sets and Wayne won the fifth set. This helped get Wayne to the second day where they played Piute. They ended up placing 6th overall out of 18 teams. It was a great weekend filled with lots of fun!

Have you ever wanted to create a slingshot out of popsicle sticks and physics? Well, Debby James’ Physics class hand crafted awesome slingshots with popsicle sticks. After making them, the students shot things from them, not dangerous things of course! It was very fun and the students learned and also had a bunch of fun.
Thursday, November 5th, was the first showing of Annie, put on by the Wayne High Theatre department. They worked hard to get it done and ready for the public. And everyone did an amazing job! Remember to go and see the other showings before you lose the chance!

As baseball and volleyball come to a close here at Wayne High, we are looking forward to the start of new basketball season. Basketball tryouts are next week, the week of November 9-13. We are so excited to see what our boys and girls basketball teams can do this year. The first home games for both the boys and girls teams will be later this month. Everyone come out and cheer for our awesome teams. It’s going to be a great season! Oh and, don’t forget...be kind and show support to everyone you see. Go Badgers!
