The Rise to State

Over the weekend the Badgers ventured to Price to face off against Region 19 and 20 on their ride to a state title.  Wayne over all competed well.    The team as a whole came in second falling behind the Monticello Buckaroos.  

Individually the team has had many qualify to compete this weekend at state.  The state qualifiers are as follows: 106 Lb - Jesse Peterson, 113 Lb. - Ethan Morrill, 120 Lb. - Trevor Barlow, 126 Lb. - Wade Jeffery, 132 Lb. - Mason Wells, 152 Lb. - Barlow Pace, 160 Lb. - Luke Dahl, 182 Lb. - Jacob Oldroyd, and 285 Lb. - Daniel Ayala.  Wayne also had a whole host of Region winners and those that came in second.  The two Region winners were Daniel Ayala in 285 and Barlow Pace in 152.  Barlow also was awarded Outstanding Wrestler and Region Academic All-State.  The wrestlers that placed second include: Trevor Barlow at 120, Wade Jeffery at 126, Luke Dahl at 160, and Jacob Oldroyd at 182.  We wish those that will compete this weekend the best of luck.  The team has worked extremly hard this year in hope of taking home two state titles.  Good luck wrestlers Take State.
