WE ARE WAYNE

unnamed

This is a powerful statement that these young people are making.  They are trying to stand together this year.  In a quote from Helen Keller, "Alone we can do so little together we can do so much."  May we take a step toward being closer as a school and accomplishing amazing things.  We would also like to express a special thanks to Lori and David Chappell for donating the shirts to the high school.

Counselor's Corner, 1st Quarter 2017

Parents and Students:

We are off to a great start at Wayne High.  I just wanted to make you aware of a few important dates:

OCT         11-20      Senior SEOP/CCR’S (college and scholarship info, graduation progress)

OCT         16          Parents In Education Night

                 28          ACT Test

Nov          6            FAFSA Night for Seniors/ Free application night for Snow College

Please remember how important it is to pass all of your classes. Every class you “fail” will have to be made up to graduate. The counseling center has a facebook page, and a page on the High School website where you can find information. Seniors please check the counseling website and click on “scholarbox” for scholarship applications. Please sign up for remind messages for your students’ class to also receive important ACT, Scholarship and specific class information.

EVERYONE you can use SHMOOP to study for the ACT, go to: schools.shmoop.com type in the Magic Word, which is BEEHIVE.  Juniors will be taking the test for free in March and those that signed up will be taking the test Oct. 28.  There is also an opportunity to take the test Dec. 9th in Richfield.  Please have your student sign up and study, never to early to start.

Again this year we also have a College Focus wall and we will be giving important details and information about a different school in Utah each month. Please tell your students to watch for their favorite school and see if it will meet their educational goals.  Please feel free to stop by my office if you have any questions, let’s make this a great year!!!

Thank You for sending us such great students,

Candence Peterson
