The Lady Badgers are celebrating a great weekend from the Valley Buffalo Shootout.  In this tournament the varsity took 1st and the JV took 2nd in their brackets.  We are very proud of our girls and the hard work and dedication that the coaches put in.  We will see the girls back home this week on the 15th and 16th.  Come out and support this great group of girls.

January 24th-30th Girls Basketball

Earlier this week of January 24th-30th Wayne had 2 games. The first game was against Milford and the second game was against Piute. On Tuesday we played Milford at home. This was a high scoring game between both teams.  Both teams worked super hard, but Wayne got ahead and won 72-63. On Wednesday Wayne traveled to Piute to play them on their home gym. This game was very intense, but Piute ended up winning. This had been one of Wayne’s first losses out of the 15 games that they have played. This Friday they play Water Canyon at home!

Ramping Up To Region

This week was the last of the girls' games before they play their play-in game, region games, and state. They played Valley on Wednesday, February 10th, and will play Panguitch on the 12th. Wednesday’s game was also Senior night for the girls. There were lots of people there to support them and watch the game! It was a pretty close game, Wayne would score and then Valley would score, so there wasn’t really anyone that was ahead for too long. Wayne had eventually got up three points, but then fouled Valley so they got to shoot. Valley’s girl made one out of the two foul shots putting them 2 points behind with only about a minute left. Wayne played good defense and didn’t let them score, and they ended up winning. This game decided whether they were going to be seated first or second in the region.
